60-year-old-plus vines yielded this wine. A deep purple ruby, opaque in the glass. The nose leads with medium-plus intensity, lifted aromas of carnations, game, pickling spice, tar/cold smoke and lard/black olive tapenade richness. The dry palate follows with a medium acidity, a medium-plus extract, medium-plus fine-textured tannins and a medium-plus to full body. The frame is supported by a lovely length as well as persistent flavours of tar/smoke, vanilla, cream, pickling spice and game trailing into a medium-plus finish. 2024-2028–IR
