Hairy Grenache – sounds like something from a 1960’s sci-fi movie. It is so named because the vine leaves have a furry down on the underside which evolved to protect the plant from losing too much water from transpiration in the heat, conserving moisture and limiting stress. The 2020 has intense sweet aromas of red fruits and parma violets. It is supple, medium bodied with ripe fruits leading to some savoury bitter chocolate flavours and some grip on the finish creating great balance.
