Floris and Vicky spent many years living and working in Burgundy – its where they met – and both have a love of fine white Burgundy. Several years ago, Floris had a few new French oak barrels in a corner of the winery and decided to experiment with producing a Languedoc alternative to the great wines of Burgundy. His Alternative 2018 is a rich buttery style with aromas of butterscotch, banana and toffee. On the palate, ripe peaches and buttery toast flavours combine to create a smooth broad and rich wine. It was fermented in new oak barrels from the Nevers forest in central France and remained on lees until May.
