The garnet colour suggest that this is now at the peak of its powers. This is confirmed on the nose with primary notes of blackcurrant, black cherry and coconut and tertiary notes of cigar box and pencil shavings. The nose leads to a palate rich in plum, real cola, clove and obvious development including cedar, coffee, cocoa and tobacco. Tannins are certainly to the fore, backed up, it must be said, by useful acidity and concentration. This is one for the dinner table and shows off the sheer class of WA Cabernet. Drink Now– MP
Atticus Limited Museum Release Syrah, Estate Grown, Margaret River
The nose is aloof - almost regal - but one senses ripe plum, cherry, damson, and mulberry alongside obvious development with cooked fruit, mushroom and forest floor. On the palate, black fruit is complemented by white pepper, cedar and chocolate, plus tertiary notes of leather and wet leaves. This starts off rather shy but finishes with a lively elegance and intent that is more Roger Moore than Daniel Craig. Drink Now – MP
