Jérôme’s 2018 Auxey-Duresses has intense crushed strawberry and cherry aromas. It is light to medium bodied with a deliciously tangy acidity. It is well balanced with succulent fruits on the finish and will be perfect for drinking over the next few years. Jérôme has 1.25 hectares in the appellation of Auxey-Duresses with vineyards on the outskirts of the village facing south. Originally cordon-trained, Jérôme has converted the vines to Guyot in order to improve grape quality. All the red wines were fermented by natural yeasts in open top fermenters with regular punching down. Auxey-Duresses was matured in Allier oak barrels with 15% new.
