Kautz Family Vineyards / Goldstone Land Co.

Calaveras County is one of the oldest in California, established during the Gold Rush. Steve Millier founded Black Sheep Winery in 1984 in Murphys, California, with the aim to produce distinctive Zinfandel wines. This warm vineyard area in the Sierra Foothills is well suited to the Zinfandel grape. The Black Sheep 2020 is a blend of three vineyard sites offering spicy, dark fruited, chocolatey notes on the nose. The palate is fresh and firm with a bold structure and lingering herbal nuances. Needs time to unwind. 2024-2028–JB
