Botas de Barro Tinta de Toro DO Toro, 2022

From old vines, some up to 100 years of age. A deep-purple ruby, opaque robe. A little shy on the nose, slightly lifted with aromas of red and black plum reduction, vanilla and chocolate. Dry on the palate with a ripe, shy-of-medium acidity, it is a more-ish, medium-plus wine in all other dimensions, not only in extract, fine-textured tannins and body but in length and persistence. It also has a good depth of fruit (if a little stacked right now) with elements of black plum reduction, vanilla, chocolate and a medium-plus finish. 2025-2028–IR
