Cabutto Tenuta La Volta Barolo DOCG-C329

This note is taking longer to write than usual, not least because I cannot resist returning to the glass to pick up yet more layers and flavours. This is Barolo at full volume, still relatively young and a wine that I suspect will get even better with time. It is already complex, boasting intense aroms of cranberry, baked red fruit, tar, walnut and cedar - with the strong supporting cast of Nebbiolo's signature acidity and tannin. If you can, buy more than one bottle so that you can appreciate this wine as it evolves over the coming decade or two. 2026-2035-RB
