Cecile Lebrun Touraine Sauvignon AOC Touraine, 2021

Touraine is in the central Loire Valley wine region, sitting halfway between Sancerre and Nantes on the Atlantic coast. Touraine white wines are most often based on Sauvignon Blanc, which is planted across a wide area. The wines have a similar flavour profile to Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, although tending to be lighter. The best examples offer great value for money. A high-scoring wine, the 2021 is restrained and complex with elderflower, fennel and lemon aromas. Fresh lemon and lime flavours linger on the palate leading to a crisp, sour citrus finish.
