Some members may have this 2012 in their cellars as it was featured as part of a mixed case in Cellar Offering 241. Re-tasted for this Offering, the 2012 has come out of its closed phase revealing a spicy bouquet with red fruits and is now ready for drinking. On the palate it is soft and smooth, with delicious dark fruits, bitter cherry and chocolate on the finish and some grip. It should remain at its peak for another five years of so.

Chateau Daugay AOC Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Christian de Bouard de LaForest
Originally offered in Cellar Offering 250, I have extended the drinking life from 2026 to 2030 based on my recent tasting. 2014 expresses incense and woody notes combined with appealing aromas of blueberry muffin. It remains youthful on the palate, with a juicy acidity and lots of nice fresh fruits. This wine is fine in texture, soft and smooth, while showing nicely how it will benefit from some more bottle ageing.

Chateau Daugay AOC Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Famille Grenie - de Bouard
A great vintage on the right bank of Bordeaux, this wine now shows its full potential and I have upped its drinking life to 2030. Still a little restrained on the nose, with aromas of treacle, spices, wild strawberries and other soft ripe fruits, it is elegant with more mid palate weight than the 2012 and 2014, making it very approachable, yet with potential for more cellaring. The warm ripe vintage is reflected in the wine, showing the highest proportion of Cabernet grapes, with 32% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon.
