Château La Confession

Oak is in abundance in the 2019 Château La Confession. It is medium-bodied, concentrated with some drying astringency from the oak coming through on the finish despite an initially silky start. Given some time, the tannins should mellow. Château La Confession has approximately 7.5 hectares of vines just outside the town of Saint-Émilion on the main road towards Libourne. Jean-Philippe Janoueix used a combination of different sizes, shapes and oak-origin barrels to mature the wine for six months.
