Chateau la Genestiere AOP Chateauneuf-du-Pape, 2017

Brimming with delicious dark fresh and cooked fruit flavours, the 2017 Château La Genestière Châteauneuf-Du-Pape is fine in texture with a succulent palate and good acidity. The bouquet is complex with spicy notes, coffee, raisins, black cherry, blackcurrants and smoke. It is round and smooth with a long chocolate and berry finish. A total of 18 grape varieties are permitted in the Châteauneuf-Du-Pape Appellation, although the vast majority of wines are based on two or three. This is a blend of 49% Syrah, 36% Grenache, 7% Mourvèdre, 4% Cinsault, 1% Terret Noir, 1% Muscardin, 1% Counoise, and 1% Vaccarèse.
