The 2018 was one of my coups de coeur in last year’s C283 Cellar Offering – and the 2019 is a truly suitable follow-on. Aromas of toast, vanilla, chocolate and spices lie over black fruits. It is supple and smooth with a silky texture leading to a slightly grainy finish. More fresh black fruit flavours shine through on the palate with well-integrated oak. It has a long bitter chocolate and olive finish. Lirac Appellation, on the western side of the Rhône River, is approximately 10 kilometres north of Avignon and borders that of Tavel.
