Château Sainte-Croix Réserve des Anges, IGP Var, 2021

In this Cellar, we are pleased to broaden the selection of Provence wines with the introduction of awarding winning producer Château Sainte-Croix. The Réserve des Anges is named for the “Angel’s share,” the term that describes the wine that evaporates during barrel aging. The angels, it is said,are known to take the best part, therefore an appropriate reference for the estate’s flagship wine which has matured in oak for 12 months. A blend of 70% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Grenache. Everything about this wine says luxury, from its deep ruby hue to its enduring finish. Both the bouquet and palate offer rich dark fruit skillfully wrapped in notes of clove, cinnamon and vanilla. The tannins are polished and perfectly balanced. 2023-2028–LW
