Fronsac on the right bank, west of Saint-Émilion, produces quite tannic structured wines compared to the fleshy plumpness of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol. Yet these can offer great value and mature nicely. 2018 Tessendey has floral and damson aromas complemented with coconut oak, graphite and vanilla toffee. It is full boded with good mid palate and dark fruit flavours and grippy tannins on the finish. It will benefit from another couple of years before drinking.
