Viña la Rosa’s Cornellana vineyard is planted on an isolated outcrop of volcanic rocks nestled in a small valley surrounded by Chile’s breathtaking Coastal Mountain Range. The Gran Reserva cuvée is an unusual blend that combines classic Bordeaux grapes – Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc, along with Petit Verdot – with spicy Syrah and plush, juicy Carmenère, a grape variety that reaches its apogee in Chile’s Central Valley.
CORNELLANA CUVÉE GRAN RESERVE, PEUMO, 2019
Medium ruby hue, with a garnet rim. Pronounced mint and herbaceous characters here, blended with bright primary blackcurrant fruit, along with tertiary notes of dried cherries and earthiness. Fine chalky tannins exert grip, and high levels of acidity drive a lively finish. 2026-2032–NH

CORNELLANA CUVÉE GRAN RESERVE, PEUMO, 2020
Deep crimson hue. This well-executed blend is just reaching that exciting stage in its evolution when the primary dark fruit aromas are being joined by spicy, tobacco-scented tertiary notes. Full-bodied and richly flavoured, it will make excellent drinking over the next 3 to 4 years. 2026-2030–RB

CORNELLANA CUVÉE GRAN RESERVE, PEUMO, 2021
A youthful wine with loads of primary dark fruit character – sweet cassis and damson plums – along with violets, blackcurrant leaf and some eucalyptus. The tannins are polished but exert a gentle grip on the palate; the finish is long and bright. 2026-2034–NH
