I have a firm belief that things that are made with love taste better, and Walter Massa’s Derthona proves my point. Walter is a fifth generation of crusader defending the existence of a small plot of the Timorasso grape in eastern Piedmont. It is a certainty that without his passion and dedication we would not have the opportunity to taste such a remarkable wine. His conviction has positioned him as a “icon” with those who know Italian wine, and we are fortunate to have a connection to access a small parcel for Opimian Members. Amber gold in colour, with an expressive bouquet of honey-dipped orchard fruit complemented by a hint of smoky minerality.
