A complex bouquet with aromas of fraises des bois (wild strawberries), blueberries, spices and lots of vanilla oak. It is medium- to full-bodied with dark fruits, bitter cherry and chocolate all present on the palate. 2017 was the first good year after a series of vintages affected by hail, frost and drought. Made by Daniele Bonnardot from 70 to 80-year-old vines in plots at PremeauxPrissey, Comblanchien and Corgoloin in the south of the appellation. No herbicides or insecticides are used in the vineyards and all grapes were picked by hand. After a short cold maceration, the juice was naturally fermented in tank followed by malolactic fermentation in oak barrels with 20% new. It was matured a further 12 months in barrel and bottled in March 2019.
