Domaine de Milhomme is on the outskirts of the small medieval hilltop village of Ternand. Legend has it that during the invasion of Gaul by Julius Caesar in 52 BCE, the people of Ternand defended their territory, refusing to give up, and were slain in battle: a thousand lost their lives leading to the name “Domaine de Mille Hommes” and over time to “Milhomme”. Bernard’s family has owned the property since the 16th century; his nephew Manu now manages the estate. Savoury hedgerow and musk aromas dominate a cherry background. It is light and supple on the palate, developing a sour rhubarb and redcurrant character.
