Domaine Jones Macabeu Orange Wine Vin de France, 2021

Orange in colour with restrained candy floss aromas, subtle flavours of bitter orange show on the palate. It is broad in structure, filling the mouth with its weight and has a lovely layered texture with a bitter pith finish. Macabeu grapes were handpicked from one of Katie’s tiny vineyards, known locally as Colombiers. The vines are 60 years old and this is one of the last vineyards planted to Macabeu in Tuchan. Grapes were picked and placed into a small tank. After a week, the fermenting grapes were pressed and the must matured in two three-year-old barrels.
