Pale lemon. Gorgeous nose with aromas of honeysuckle, honeydew melon, wet wool, apricot, peach kernel, guava, banana, cinnamon and toasted almond. This shows a ridiculous amount of fruit for the money. Perhaps the best-value Viognier of my life? The nose shows a level of complexity seldom seen outside Condrieu, and the palate balances moderate acidity with skilfully judged stone and tropical fruit. There's remarkable length, and layers of apricot, peach and nectarine complemented by floral notes of acacia, honeysuckle and subtle banana. A genuine must-buy. 2026-2028 – MP
