VS is a term reserved for younger Cognac, aged for at least two years before release. These youthful Cognacs are more floral and fruit driven. The “Elisabeth” VS is no exception with its notes of tree fruit, almonds and white blossoms. The palate is smooth and heady with well-balanced oaked nuances of vanilla, sandalwood and spice.–JB
Elisabeth VSOP Fine Cognac AOC Cognac Fins Bois
The term VSOP stands for “Very Special Old Pale.” It can only be used for Cognac which has been aged at least four years before bottling. This is a bold style of Cognac with its exotic spice, dried fruit and musky aromas. The palate is highly nuanced with mingled smoky, spiced, and fruity flavours as well as a fiery finish.–JB
Elisabeth XO Fine Cognac AOC Cognac Fins Bois
The XO classification in Cognac stands for “Extra Old.” The brandy must be aged for at least six years to warrant this mention. Terms like Napoleon or Old Reserve on labels are synonymous with XO. This is a highly complex and powerfully structured Cognac, with layer upon layer of aged nutty, caramel, spiced, woody flavours. Satin-like in texture with a pleasantly warming finish.–JB
