A rich and dense wine, this full-bodied red stood out in my tasting. Toasty aromas are complemented by ripe dark fruits on the palate. It was produced from Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional grapes cultivated on terraced slopes of schist soils in the Upper Corgo sub-region of the Douro. It is structured with a grippy finish with lingering bitter chocolate notes and was matured in new French barrels for six months.
