Groote Post

Once upon a time, Cinsault was South Africa’s most widely planted grape used not only to make wine but also for brandy production. Subsequently, it was considered of little interest when other varieties became the focus. Today, it’s back in favour thanks to its ability to tolerate high temperatures, resist drought and disease, and produce light, drinkable wines. The best grapes are grown on old dry-farmed bush vines which keep their yields in check. Pale ruby in colour, the 2020 has some earthy fruits and spices. It is light bodied with a raspberry finish.
