Grape Variety

Prieto Picudo

Producer

Vina de Belesar

The grape responsible for this wine, Prieto Picudo, is believed to be native to Castilla y León and makes deep-colored wines with fresh acidity and sturdy structure, a case in point here: it is a black-purple, opaque pour. On the nose, we find medium-intensity aromas of caramel, prune spread, chokeberry preserve, dried pear and orange peel. The palate is dry and shows a medium acidity, a medium-plus extract, medium-plus fine powdery-textured tannins and a medium-plus body with a seductive, coating and juicy presence. It continues to unfold with matching medium-plus length and intensity of dried pear, prune spread, chokeberry preserve, floral element and citrus peel, closing with a medium-plus finish. 2025-2029–IR
