White Rioja is usually made from Viura grapes. This version is made from 100% Tempranillo Blanco, a mutation of the red Tempranillo grape discovered in 1988 in the Rioja Baja region. The first bottling of the variety was in 2005. It is still only cultivated to a very limited extent in the region, yet given the quality of this wine I suspect its popularity will grow! It is intensely aromatic, fruity with lemon, limes and other citrus notes. The palate is fresh with nectarine flavours and a long limey finish.
