IN Insolente Graciano DOCa. Rioja Bodegas D. Mateos, 2021

Graciano is an old variety currently rising in popularity and of interest to winemakers for its perfume and high natural acidity – important in the battle against the impact of climate change and warming temperatures. However, the variety is relatively difficult to grow with low fertility producing low yields. Mateo planted Graciano 20 years ago, and he is part of an ongoing research project to identify its best clones. The 2021 vintage has wild herbal and musky aromas. It is smooth with sour cranberry and crunchy redcurrant flavours.
