The history of JAPG Lda is closely linked to that of Quinta da Barreira and the winemaker José Gaspar, who promotes it. Quinta da Barreira, founded in 1853, has remained under the control of the same family since 1954. The vineyards of Quinta da Barreira, planted and renovated in 2006, boast the noble red varieties of Touriga Nacional, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon and the white varieties of Chardonnay, Verdelho, Alvarinho and Arinto. Quinta da Barreira, located in the Vitivinícola region of Lisbon, is inserted in this rich set of landscapes located in the municipality of Torres Vedras. The concept behind the success developed by JAPG Lda is linked to the rigor and criteria with which its wines are created. They are based on three fundamental pillars: specialized human resources, selected vineyards and appropriate winemaking technology. Knowing that the quality of the wines is closely linked to the grape varieties, the selection of the grape varieties planted at Quinta da Barreira has been a decisive factor in their international success. The professional experience involved is decisive for the quality of the wine produced. The creation of original and unique wines and the very attractive quality/price ratio are the reasons why we lead our wines to succeed in international markets like Canada, Brazil and China.
