2018 Carignan Vieux Cépages has pure flavours of cassis and blackcurrants combined with a fresh crystalline sourness. This is a medium-bodied wine with a grainy texture, restrained on the nose with aromas of plums and apricot skins. Carignan grapes came from two small plots planted over 100 years ago in Tuchan. Both are farmed organically: one on limestone and clay soils, the other schist.
