With a minimum of five years of barrel age after the completion of the Estufagem process, this rich and complex fortified wine expresses a bouquet of dates, yellow plum, baking spice and orange peel. The palate is rich with an abundance of raisin, plum, black tea and baking spice flavours. Due to the special way in which Madeira is made, it is ready to drink upon bottling and will remain enjoyable for a very long time.
Justino's Madeira, Verdelho, 10 Years Old
The key to a brilliant sweet wine is balance. The acidity must offset the sugar perfectly so that the impression is about flavour not about residual sugar. Justino’s 10 YO Verdelho Madeira is a wonderful example of this harmony and allows for this wine to work well with both savoury and sweet pairings. With flavours reminiscent of dried apricot, Bengal Spice tea and honey, try it paired with bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with Quebec’s Bleu Bénédictin.
Justino's Madeira Wines Fine Medium Dry 3 Years Old
Made from the indigenous red grape variety Tinta Negra, this three-year-old Maderia obtains its unique character through the Estufagem process where the wine is heated to 40-50°C for three months before it is aged in oak casks for a minimum of three years. This is a delicious, fortified wine with aromas of sultana raisin, caramelized brown sugar and molasses. The palate is rich with flavours of roasted nuts, figs, honey and brown sugar.
