Another super-interesting white wine from Shane with spice, marzipan, jasmine, dried camomile and honey aromas. It is medium bodied with earthy spicy notes and fruit flavours. It has a distinct mineral acidity and lovely depth. Gruner Veltliner is not a common variety anywhere outside of Austria, although it is gaining traction in Adelaide Hills. The quality of this wine makes me wonder why more isn’t made. Planted at K1 in 2008-2009, Geoff was amongst the first wineries in Australia to release a Gruner Veltliner wine.
