Kershaw GPS Cape South Coast Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, 2020

Deliciously appealing aromas of white peach, elderflower, cassis and lime combine in a complex bouquet. On the palate, it is soft and smooth with no overt oak but some mellow spices finishing with firm lemon and lime acidity. It is a blend of 52% Sémillon from Hemel-en-Arde with 48% Sauvignon Blanc grown in Elgin; hence, the Cape South Coast appellation. Both varieties were handpicked separately. Sauvignon Blanc was immediately pressed and the clear juice fermented at low temperature. Sémillon was fermented in oak barrels, of which two-thirds were new, at a slightly warmer temperature to allow good oak integration.
