L'Approche Mas d'Encha AOP Faugeres, 2020

A tight-knit, dense wine with structure, it was somewhat shy at the time of tasting but did show some spice and chocolate aromas. More dark fruits and savoury spices came out on the palate creating a wine with good depth and fine tannins, scoring highly overall. Made by Richard Dalichoux at Mas d’Encha, a 5-hectare vineyard in Faugères – an Appellation known for its rich reds. Located in the foothills of the Cévennes Mountains, vines are cultivated on schist soils at 300 metres and face south towards the Mediterranean Sea some 30 kilometres away.
