This blend of 54% Grenache, 26% Carignan and 20% Mourvèdre has subdued, moody dark fruit aromas with a hint of coal in the background. It is supple with more damson and chocolate flavours emerging in the mouth and is medium bodied with soft tannins. A long and even growing season in 2018 with moderate temperatures and the odd shower resulted in a late harvest with grapes picked the last week of April. Matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, it should continue to develop nicely over some years.
