The 2019 Le Chardonnay Grand Vin overflows with aromas of melon, yogurt, pineapple, hay and chalk. A sophisticated wine with a palate of lees, apple, citrus, tangy yogurt and older barrel. Ready to enjoy; however, it will continue to mature over the next five years. 2023-2028 – LW

It’s quite interesting to taste these two vintages side by side. Not only are the wines a year apart, but their barrel maturation has also been customized. In 2019, 41% of the wine was aged in 44% new barrique with the remainder matured in 5,000-litre foudre, over a period of 11 months. In contrast, in the 2020 vintage, 100% of the wine was aged in new barrique for ten months. The 2020 bottling has a delicate nose of melon, pear and talc followed by a decadent body of apple, baking spice, pineapple and vanilla. 2023-2027 – LW
