Le Petit Ducru de Ducru-Beaucaillou AOC Saint-Julien Famille Eugene Borie, 2019

Lot

3402

Grape Variety

Merlot

Producer

Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou

Lots of oaky character, including coconut, vanilla, smoky bacon, and cocoa all combine with fresh red and black fruits, like cherry, mulberry, blackberry. It is supple and smooth in the mouth with layers of ripe fruit and vanilla flavours. It has a powdery texture, with juicy fruit and fine-grained tannins. It is a tasty, flavoursome wine with lots of finesse. The team at Ducru-Beaucaillou makes a collection of wines: le Petit Ducru is made from a selection of vineyards in Saint-Julien owned by the estate, which are further away from the Gironde in the west of the Appellation with some declassified Ducru added for good measure (previously known as Lalande-Borie).
