Deep ruby in colour, Loess has a mellow fruit nose with lots of spice. It is smooth with a linear structure. Refined in character with fine tannins, lingering dark fruit flavours and black cherries on the finish, it is well balanced and has the potential for some cellaring. A distinguished wine which was matured in French oak for approximately nine months. Jaime Saiz de la Hoya has six vineyard parcels in selected sites around Burgos in the Ribera del Duero region. The name Loess refers to the sedimentary soil laid down by the wind.
