This is a youthful Barbera, brimming with ripe dark fruit aromas of damsons, plums and raspberries. On the palate it is supple and smooth leading to a firm sour fruit acidity and long bitter cherry finish. It should continue to mature nicely. Roberto Damonte’s secret for making this wine was to use 8-10% of overripe Barbera grapes. It was matured 20 months in oak.
