Deep ruby hue. This has a beautifully precise nose, with aromas of cooked black plum, black cherry, mulberry, crushed blueberry, cocoa powder, wet leaves, dark chocolate and menthol. The palate has the silkiest of tannins, and layers of black fruit supported by obvious yet balanced oaky notes. Cherry, plum, blueberry and blackberry are joined by incense, vanilla and pencil shavings. The main attraction, however, is the clearly defined fruit flavours that drive a most impressive finish.
