Meldville Barrel Select Chardonnay, VQA Lincoln Lakeshore, 2022

This wine was barrel-fermented and then rested for 19 months in 3rd fill French barrels. It has a medium lemon-yellow hue. The nose offers a medium-intensity multifaceted aromatic set of custard, cream, vanilla, smoke, yellow plum preserve, (a bit sharpish, acetic), golden raisins, yellow pear, lemonade powder and caramel. Dry, the palate has a low to medium acidity, medium-plus extract, medium texture and medium-plus body with nice length and intensity of custard, crème brulée, hazelnut milk, smoke, pear and yellow-plum preserve flavours, a cushy/fleshy presence on the palate, and a medium-plus finish. 2025-2028–IR
