Mondeuse AOP Savoie, 2021

Mondeuse represents 12% of the plantings in Savoie. If you have not yet had the chance to try this variety, Earl Million Rousseau provides the ideal opportunity. This fragrant, fruit-forward wine is made from 35-year-old vines. With lesser-known varieties such as this, I often try to mention similar wines as a point of reference. However, in this case this wine is so unique I don’t think it could easily be compared. Its expressive bouquet is reminiscent of cherry, rose, vanilla and red velvet cake. The vivid red fruit and floral notes carry through on the well-polished palate, culminating in a satisfying finish. Only 22 barrels produced. 2023-2026 – LW
