Santa Caterina is one of 12 wineries working together to rejuvenate Grignolino in Monferrato. Related to Nebbiolo and Freisa, this historic variety produces very low yields and is capable of making highquality, long-lived wines. This is an elegant example with an aromatic bouquet of cherry, strawberry, rose, cured meat and brown sugar. The palate is equally sophisticated with layers of fresh and dried red fruit, leather, spice and herb balanced by firm, fine-grained tannin.
