Red fruit and balsamic aromas combine with coconut, blackberry and smoky notes. It is relatively light but well balanced with a dark fruit finish. It is a blend of 77% Samsó (also known as Carignan) and 23% Syrah. The 16-year-old vines are planted on black slate and quartz soils similar to those famous in Priorat. Each variety was picked at maturity – Syrah in mid-October and the later-ripening Carignan at the end of October. The wine was matured in new and old oak barrels for 12-16 months.
