Nature & Sun is the wine range in which Bosman Family Vineyards explores organic winemaking. Produced from Grenache Noir grapes from bush vines planted in 2016, the vines are in a parcel called Gesamelike Wei – meaning “communal pasture.” Historically, the land was used for grazing by nomadic“Trek” farmers. Pale in colour, it has elegant floral aromas. It is light to medium-bodied with lashings of red fruits, and a cranberry finish.
Fides Grenache Blanc W.O. Wellington
Orange wines have recently been popping up around the globe (although the quantities produced remain low), but they are not new; in fact, they have been made for 6,000 years in Georgia in the Caucasus region, spanning Europe and Asia between the Black and Caspian seas. Orange wines are made from white grapes which are fermented on their skins in much the same way as red wines. The skins give the wine its golden-orange colour and add texture to the wine’s palate. Fides 2018 has earthy, resin and bitter orange aromas. It is medium to full-bodied with a broad structure. Bitter marmalade and bruised apple flavours are held within layers of structure leading to a grippy tannic finish. Grenache Blanc was grown on bush vines planted in 2011 on decomposed granite. Fermentation lasted three weeks on skins with the wine matured in old Russian oak for six months.
