Mellow ripe fruits with vanilla, cherries and a savoury edge are very appealing. Produced from 100% Niellucio coming from old vines, it has great balance on the palate. Grapes were picked by hand, de-stemmed and left on skins for an extended 30 days. On the palate, it is smooth with cherry menthol and bitter cherry flavours lingering on the finish. It was matured for 12 months in 300- and 600-litre French oak casks with 30% new oak. Drinking nicely now, it should stay at its peak for some years.
