Aromas of dried flowers, stewed plum and cedar leap out of the glass and presage plenty of joyful fruit to come. High levels of both tannins and acidity are perfectly poised against the ripe fruit and work together to create a generous mouthful of crunchy Spanish red. Now fully mature and with admirable length, this shows the capability of the Mencía variety to age. While delicious now, there is no hurry to drink it. 2023-2026.–MP
