Poco per Pochi, Rosso Toscana, IGT, Vignaioli Morellino Scansano, 2017

Poco per Pochi is a blend of native Italian grapes, Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo, with international varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The cuvée is an ode to both the traditional winemaking practices and spirit of innovation espoused by Vignaioli Morellino di Scansano. The grapes are vinified separately to allow their individual character to develop, then aged in five different types of barrels. The result is a union of these unique components. From its deep ruby colour to its dense, full-bodied structure, this heady red wine has a commanding presence. Ripe dark fruit aromas mingle pleasantly with mossy, floral and tobacco-spice notes on the nose. The palate shows fine depth of flavour, lifted acidity and weighty, yet fine-grained tannins.
