The Primitivo di Manduria appellation stretches from the town of Taranto along Salento’s western coast for some 40 kilometres. Primitivo thrives in this hot, dry area buffeted by marine breezes from the Gulf of Taranto. This is a much firmer, more tannic wine than the Salento Primitivo. It offers tangier dark fruit flavours and a deeper, more concentrated core. Needs time to soften. 2025-2030–JB
