Ratafia is a speciality fortified dessert wine produced in the Champagne region. Mahogany in colour, it has intense complex treacle, nutty, figs and date aromas. The rich palate has flavours of treacle sponge, vanilla pod, dried apricot with savoury, nutty notes and a long tangy finish. Produced from Pinot Noir grapes and the addition of grape brandy producing 18% alcohol and 143g/l sugar, this was then matured in a solera.
