Vignes Moingeon is a Premier Cru site in Saint Aubin which lies to the north of the appellation. Jérôme has 0.85 hectares of Chardonnay and is the only grower to bottle a wine 100% from this Premier Cru. Aromas of fresh apples and pears precede a soft smooth palate. It is medium bodied with some structure, well balanced with rich ripe fruit flavours leading to a lemon curd finish. Vines are cultivated on south-east facing slopes on white marl soils. It was fermented and matured on lees for eight months in oak barrels. A third of the barrels were new and made from Allier oak with a light toast, and the balance older barrels from the Forest of Tronçais.
